We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician I to join our team at Wayfair. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse and distribution centers.
Key Responsibilities
* Troubleshoot and repair basic conveyor material handling systems, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and fire protection systems
* Assist with projects related to facilities as directed by the Supervisor
* Operate aerial platform lifts, boom/snorkel lift, and powered industrial trucks (reach, order picker, stand up, pallet runners, stock chaser, etc.)
* Complete work orders, records, logs, and other written or computer-based documents
* Maintain a clean and organized work area, including tools and supplies
* Travel to other Wayfair sites up to 20% of the time
Requirements
* Minimum 1 year experience in industrial maintenance or relevant certification(s)
* Basic carpentry skills, including painting, drywall, cleaning, and basic maintenance
* Proficient in using hand and power tools, electrical testing equipment, and PLC systems
* Proficient in using computer systems and CMMS software
* Experienced in safely using warehouse equipment, such as order pickers, pallet jacks, forklifts, and aerial lifts
* Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including arc flash protection and safety shoes
* Ability to regularly bend, lift, stretch, crawl, and reach, engage in full manual dexterity in both hands and wrists, and stand and walk for long periods
* Ability to access all areas of the building by climbing ladders and gangways safely and without limitation
* Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment that can be noisy and have low lighting levels
* Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and guidelines
* Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and take direction
* Must be a safety-conscious, motivated, detail-oriented, self-starter with a positive attitude
* Must be flexible on working hours and willing to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime
