About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician I to join our team at Wayfair. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse and distribution centers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, machinery, and facilities to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with conveyor systems, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and fire protection systems.
  • Assist with projects related to facilities, including renovations, upgrades, and new installations.
  • Operate aerial platform lifts, boom/snorkel lifts, and powered industrial trucks safely and efficiently.
  • Complete work orders, records, logs, and other written or computer-based documents accurately and on time.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including tools and supplies.
  • Travel to other Wayfair sites up to 20% of the time as needed.
Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in industrial maintenance or a related field.
  • Basic carpentry skills, including painting, drywall, cleaning, and basic maintenance.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools, electrical testing equipment, and PLC systems.
  • Experience with computer systems and CMMS software.
  • Ability to safely use warehouse equipment, including order pickers, pallet jacks, forklifts, and aerial lifts.
  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment with varying temperatures, noise levels, and lighting conditions.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds unassisted and stand for long periods.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, taking direction and feedback as needed.
