About the Role

This is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity for a skilled Aircraft Mechanic to take charge of our day-to-day operations, ensuring the highest level of flight and product efficiency. As part of our team, you'll work collaboratively to implement effective processes and practices across our organization.



Your key responsibilities will include:




  • Building up and disassembling T-56 QECUs, as well as working on associated components such as the turbine, in accordance with customer, regulatory, and company requirements using hand or power tools; as part of the 2nd line maintenance activity.
  • Troubleshooting and identifying problems, carrying out adjustments and repairs according to specifications and established procedures.
  • Interpreting technical specifications, directives, and relevant publications to identify product discrepancies and deficiencies.
  • Interpreting technical standards, drawings, specifications, and other relevant documentation using mechanical precision measuring tools and instruments as required; verifying the conformance of parts to manuals and blueprints with respect to measurements.
  • Utilizing machines, tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges, plant equipment, and consumables necessary to carry out the required tasks.
  • Installing, removing, and operating the T-56 Engine in the Engine Test Facility.
  • Checking for serviceability, conformity, documentation completeness, and compatibility to applicable standards.
  • Replacing defective parts and reassembling units, ensuring conformance with Transport Canada regulations and manufacturer's specifications.
  • Maintaining detailed repair and certification records and reports of work performed.
  • Ensuring that only airworthy equipment is available for the safe and timely completion of customer's engines, modules, components, and assemblies.
  • Participating in continuous improvement of cell processes.
  • Willingsness to learn, cross-training in other complementary skills, and seeking endorsements for those skills as required to support engine bay production requirements.
  • Moving between production assignments that utilize multiple skills sets as necessary to support production requirements.
  • Providing cross-training to other technicians as needed to support production requirements.
  • Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions.


Requirements

To succeed in this role, you'll need:




  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret schematics, graphs, blueprints, and other technical information.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (unassisted) for approximately 25% of the average work day.
  • Regularly required to stand for prolonged periods.
  • High degree of mechanical aptitude, accuracy, and precision.
  • Extensive product knowledge of respective business segment.
  • Knowledgeable and proficient in the proper use of precision measuring equipment.
  • Working knowledge of production management computer systems and other related internal control systems.
  • Working knowledge of related Canadian Forces Technical Orders (CFTO's) and original equipment manufacturer's manuals.
  • Specialized training in engineering or aircraft maintenance (AME, CAMC, A & P, AMT); or equivalent.
  • Experience as an aircraft mechanic in an aerospace environment.
  • Previous T-56 Engine Bay experience a definite asset.
  • Able and willing to work shifts, extended hours, and travel as required.
  • Knowledge of the Automated Data Aircraft Management (ADAM) system.
  • Currently hold or be eligible to obtain a Secret Level II security clearance.
