The estimated salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience. Job Description: Apprentice Technician AVN

This role involves performing first and second-line aircraft maintenance on the Cormorant Helicopter under the guidance and supervision of journeyperson technicians. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting On Job Experience (OJE) and On Job Training (OJT) for Servicing Tasks, Elementary Tasks, and Work, including aircraft documentation, inspection, removal, cleaning, repair, installation, adjustment, testing, and certification of aircraft mechanical, structural, and electrical systems and components, as well as ground support equipment.

The duties of the apprentice technician include:

  • Ramp duties such as pre/post-flight inspection and support, marshalling, parking, towing, fueling/defueling, and installation/removal of required mission equipment and crash and salvage response.
  • Flying as necessary in support of maintenance, ferry, and deployment operations.
  • Traveling and working at other main operating bases, deployments in support of operations at remote sites, mobile repair parties, and ferry flights.
  • Receiving on-job-training from other employees to progress through apprenticeship to journeyperson.
  • Attending training at various locations for apprentice development, trade, airworthiness, and personnel development, as well as qualification/certification and recurrent training purposes.
  • Sweeping and cleaning hangar, shop, stores, and office areas, removing all debris accumulated by tasks performed, and maintaining a clean, safe work area.
  • Adhering to policies, procedures, and directives established by the Company.
  • Performing other tasks as may be required from time to time.
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate must be a graduate of a recognized college basic aircraft maintenance program or equivalent Canadian Armed Forces basic aircraft maintenance program, capable of reading and interpreting technical documentation such as maintenance manuals, work packages, drawings, blueprints, and Standard Plant Procedures. Additionally, they must be able to use standard computer programs and specialized ones necessary for the performance of duties, drive vehicles, and operate motorized aircraft maintenance support equipment. A Secret Level II Security Clearance through PSPC- Contract Security Program is also required.
