We're seeking a skilled Field Content Evaluator to join our Property Claims team. As a key member of our team, you'll play a crucial role in helping our customers recover from property damage by evaluating and appraising damaged or lost residential and commercial office contents.

Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring prompt, equitable settlement of content losses, in line with our corporate policies, procedures, and standards. You'll be responsible for reviewing schedules of loss, ensuring completeness of documentation, and providing quality service to our customers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Evaluating and appraising damaged or lost residential and commercial office contents
  • Providing quality service, ensuring prompt, equitable settlement of content losses
  • Reviewing schedules of loss, ensuring completeness of documentation
  • Providing completed schedules of loss, reflecting fair settlement offers
  • Conducting pricing comparisons, using web-based resources to determine replacement costs
  • Identifying appropriate vendors for replacement of items of like kind/quality
  • Determining Actual Cash Value of items being claimed, applying depreciation to reflect use and age
  • Maintaining effective communication channels with vendors and internal claims staff
  • Collaborating with adjusters and customers on file management and settlement of content portions of claims
  • Providing proactive communication with stakeholders
  • Recording, monitoring, and updating lists of contents

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Prior claims experience, an asset
  • Prior experience using Exclaim software, an asset
  • University degree or relevant training and experience
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent investigation and researching abilities
  • Adaptability and agility in a rapidly evolving business
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment and work autonomously
  • Forward thinking and ability to foster new ideas
  • Agile work ethic, taking initiative and exercising independent thinking
  • Superior organizational skills, results-driven, and able to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment
  • Ability to learn and quickly adapt to new and changing technology
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record
  • Ability to travel on short notice
