Traffic Safety Monitor

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Traffic Safety Monitor to join our team at the City of Hamilton. As a key member of our safety squad, you will be responsible for ensuring that children are safely escorted across major and busy roadways during school hours.
About the Role:
This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our community's most vulnerable members. As a Traffic Safety Monitor, you will work closely with our School Crossing Supervisor to identify potential hazards and implement effective strategies to mitigate them.
Key Responsibilities:
Obey all established traffic safety regulations to ensure the safe passage of elementary school children
Report and document any incidents or problems to your supervisor
Assist in training new guards as required
Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor
Requirements:
Previous experience related to traffic safety or a similar field
Working knowledge of traffic safety regulations and protocols
Able to work in all weather conditions, including extreme temperatures
Exposed to traffic noise and exhaust fumes
Able to stand and/or walk during entire shift
Benefits:
Estimated salary: $30-$45 per hour (dependent on experience)
