School Crossing Safety Officer

About the Role:
This position is responsible for ensuring the safe crossing of elementary school children at designated locations within the City of Hamilton.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obey all established traffic safety regulations to ensure child safety.
- Report and document any problems, including weather conditions, children, or motorists.
- May assist in training new guards as required.
- Perform other duties directly related to the position.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience related to duties listed above.
- Working knowledge of traffic safety regulations.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions, including extremes of heat and cold.
- Exposed to traffic noise and exhaust fumes.
- Ability to stand and/or walk during entire shift.
Additional Information:
The individual will be required to travel to various work locations within the City of Hamilton. As a condition of employment, the successful applicant(s) will be required to obtain a Criminal Reference Check (Vulnerable Sector Screening), at their own expense, prior to beginning work in this position.
This incumbent shall comply with all Health & Safety policies and practices for this position and the workplace.
