Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Housekeeping Team Lead to join our dynamic team at Cari. As a Housekeeping Team Lead, you will be responsible for leading a team of housekeeping staff and ensuring that our facilities are maintained to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of housekeeping staff and provide guidance and support to ensure that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Conduct daily inspections to ensure that facilities are clean and well-maintained.
  • Develop and implement cleaning schedules and workloads to ensure that tasks are completed on time.
  • Train new housekeeping staff and provide ongoing coaching and development to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their duties.
  • Champion a strong safety culture and ensure that all staff are aware of and follow safety procedures.
  • Assist with cleaning duties when required and ensure that workloads are completed to the highest standards.
  • Maintain dorm accommodations, including making and changing beds, vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors, cleaning washrooms and shower rooms, dusting surfaces, collecting and disposing of garbage, recycling, and compost, and organizing janitor closets and carts.
  • Ensure that public areas are maintained and cleaned to the highest standards.
  • May be required to use specialized cleaning equipment and processes.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Manager.
Requirements
  • Must have experience as a Lead or Supervisor Role in the housekeeping or janitorial industry.
  • 1-2 years of related work experience.
  • Must be able to work independently with a minimum of supervision.
  • Must be physically fit and capable of lifting heavy items.
  • Must have a good attendance record and a good disciplinary record.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and may be required to work day shift or night shift.
  • Complies with all company time and attendance policies and/or operating hours.
  • Significant walking or other means of mobility.
  • Ability to learn and use established techniques for the efficient and compliant completion of duties.
  • Ability to present self in a highly professional manner to others and understands that honesty and ethics are essential.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and communicate with co-workers and other departments with professionalism and respect.
  • Ability to maintain a professional relationship with all coworkers, vendor representatives, supervisors, managers, customers, and client representatives.
  • Ability to provide clear directions and respond accordingly to employees.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and have adequate/reasonable oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be adequate/reasonable in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Ability to work well alone and in a team and use all relevant electronic and communication devices.
  • Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 12 hours).
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 15 pounds.
  • High School Diploma an asset but not required.
  • May accept an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
