Job Summary

Sodexo Canada Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Housekeeping Team Lead to join our dynamic team. As a Housekeeping Team Lead, you will be responsible for leading a team of housekeeping staff and ensuring that our facilities are maintained to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of housekeeping staff and provide guidance and support to ensure that they are able to perform their duties effectively.
  • Conduct daily inspections of the facilities to ensure that they are clean and well-maintained.
  • Develop and implement cleaning schedules and workloads to ensure that all areas of the facilities are cleaned regularly.
  • Train new housekeeping staff on our cleaning procedures and protocols.
  • Champion and maintain a strong safety culture and understanding within the team.
  • Assist with cleaning duties when required to ensure that workloads are completed to Sodexo standards.

Requirements

  • Must have experience as a Lead or Supervisor Role in the following: Camp Attendant, Janitorial, or Chambermaid, in a commercial setting.
  • 1 - 2 years of related work experience.
  • Must be able to work independently with a minimum of supervision.
  • Must be physically fit and capable of lifting heavy items.
  • Must have good attendance record.
  • Must have good disciplinary record.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule. May be required to work day shift or night shift.
  • Complies with all Sodexo time and attendance policies and/or client operating hours.
  • Significant walking or other means of mobility.
  • Ability to learn and use established techniques for the efficient and compliant completion of duties.
  • Ability to present self in a highly professional manner to others and understands that honesty and ethics are essential.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude.
  • Ability to communicate with co-workers and other departments with professionalism and respect.
  • Ability to maintain a professional relationship with all coworkers, vendor representatives, supervisors, managers, customers, and client representatives.
  • Ability to provide clear directions and respond accordingly to employees.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Adequate/reasonable oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be in Adequate/reasonable Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Ability to work well alone and in a team.
  • Ability to use all relevant electronic and communication devices.
  • Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 12 hours).
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 15.88 kilograms / 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 22.68 kilograms / 50 pounds. May use mechanical aids to lift more than 22.68 kilograms / 50 pounds.
  • Personal and professional integrity, appearance, and demeanor.

  • High School Diploma an asset but not required.
  • May accept an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
