About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join our dynamic team in the Emergency Department at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre. As an RPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of exceptional healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess the needs of adult and pediatric patients requiring care in the Emergency Department, ensuring a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Function interdependently and collaboratively with members of the multidisciplinary team, including physicians, registered nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Provide quality patient care within a delivery model in accordance with the philosophy, policies, and standards of care of Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, the College of Nurses of Ontario, and all relevant legislation.
Requirements
  • Registered Practical Nursing diploma or equivalent education to practice at full scope.
  • Current Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Current BCLS.
  • Coronary Care 1 considered an asset.
  • Two (2) years' experience in emergency or acute medical/surgical nursing preferred.
  • Sound knowledge of nursing process and responsibilities of profession.
  • Membership in professional association specific to nursing service area.
  • Functions independently within scope of practice and three-factor framework as outlined by the CNO.
