Nursing Graduate Guarantee (NGG) Program

Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) is committed to supporting the transition of new nursing graduates into practice. Our Nursing Graduate Guarantee (NGG) program provides a comprehensive orientation and training program, ensuring a smooth transition into our exceptional team of nurses.

Program Highlights
  • Extended orientation and training program
  • 12 weeks of full-time employment above staffing complement
  • Access to RVH's comprehensive orientation program, including General Hospital Orientation, Interprofessional Orientation, and Unit-specific Orientation
  • Pairing with a Nurse Preceptor for 12 weeks to support transition into practice
  • Nursing Mentorship Program, where you'll be paired with an experienced nurse for guidance and support
  • 3-day Simulation Workshop to enhance clinical nursing skills
Qualifications
  • Graduated with a bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited university or college
  • Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) within the last 12 months, in the General or Temporary Class prior to start date
  • Eligible for the Nursing Graduate Guarantee (NGG) Program
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required
  • Membership with the Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario (RNAO) or other professional nursing associations preferred

  • Demonstrated clinical competence in Nursing Practice at the new graduate level
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and effective time management ability
  • Ability to think critically and effectively to prioritize needs in emergency situations
  • Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team

Salary Plan listed is based on the ONA Collective Agreement for Registered Nurses with a General Class License with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO), Salary Band ON02. Registered Nurses with a Temporary Class License with the CNO are eligible for the ON01 Salary Band.

As a Regional Health Centre, our operations run 24/7. Depending on the program for which you are applying, it may be an expectation that you are available to work week days and weekends, as well as all shifts - days, evenings, and nights.
