Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) is committed to supporting new nursing graduates and Internationally Educated Nurses (IEN) in their transition to practice.
The Nursing Graduate Guarantee (NGG) program is a comprehensive initiative that provides new nursing graduates with 12 weeks of full-time employment above staffing complement, followed by a guaranteed full-time position within 12 months.
As a participant of the NGG program at RVH, you will have access to:
- Comprehensive Orientation Program: A structured program that includes General Hospital Orientation, Interprofessional Orientation, and Unit-specific Orientation.
- Nurse Preceptorship: A dedicated nurse who will work with you to support your transition into practice and build on your prior education and experience.
- Nursing Mentorship Program: A pairing with an experienced nurse who will provide guidance and support throughout your first year of nursing.
- Simulation Workshop: A 3-day workshop to enhance your clinical nursing skills.
Positions Available: Various acute clinical care departments.
Qualifications:
- Education and Experience: Graduated with a bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited university or college, and registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) within the last 12 months.
- Eligibility: Eligible for the Nursing Graduate Guarantee (NGG) Program.
- Competencies:
- Demonstrated clinical competence in Nursing Practice at the new graduate level.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and effective time management ability.
- Ability to think critically and effectively to prioritize needs in emergency situations.
- Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Reliable and flexible individual to work as part of a diverse work team.
- Motivated, positive, and respectful of others.
- Quality-oriented, patient-focused caregiver.
- Open to innovation and change.
- Ability to set priorities and work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to maintain Reflective Practice Standards as outlined by the CNO.

- Registration as a Nursing User on the NGG Portal.
- Application to RVH postings on the NGG Portal.
Salary and Benefits:
The salary plan listed is based on the ONA Collective Agreement for Registered Nurses with a General Class License with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO), Salary Band ON02. Registered Nurses with a Temporary Class License with the CNO are eligible for the ON01 Salary Band.
Unless otherwise stated, applicants must have a minimum educational requirement of Grade 12 or equivalent and must demonstrate proven workplace excellence through commitment to strong job performance and attendance.
Please note that as a Regional Health Centre, our operations run 24/7. Depending on the program for which you are applying, it may be an expectation that you are available to work week days and weekends, as well as all shifts - days, evenings, and nights.
