Job Summary

As a Registered Practical Nurse with Aspira The Barrieview Retirement Living, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality care to our residents. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate nurse to join our team in providing exceptional patient care and promoting a positive living environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments as directed by the physician and in accordance with established standards.
  • Document and follow up on concerns and complaints from clients, family members, or team members, and seek assistance from the Registered Nurse or designate as needed.
  • Promote clients' self-care and self-sufficiency, emphasizing adaptation and abilities, and provide preventative health education to treat the whole person.
  • Complete required assessments, RAPS, and care plans within established timeframes.
  • Support unregulated care workers through guidance, direction, training, and education.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate.
  • Current Medication Administration Certificate.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in Geriatric Nursing, Healthcare, and/or Rehabilitation as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN).
  • All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • As part of legislative requirements, all successful candidates must meet the provincial police check and tuberculosis screening requirements as applicable.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Post-graduate studies in Geriatrics and Nursing Administration is an asset.
