Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Manager to lead our trucking company, Paul's Freightline. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company, ensuring the efficient allocation of resources, and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Provide strategic direction and leadership to the organization, setting clear objectives and policies to achieve business goals.
  • Resource Allocation: Allocate material, human, and financial resources to implement organizational policies and programs, ensuring optimal use of resources.
  • Department Establishment: Authorize and organize the establishment of major departments and associated senior staff positions, ensuring effective team structure.
  • Co-ordination and Control: Co-ordinate the work of regions, divisions, or departments, establishing financial and administrative controls to ensure efficient operations.
  • Policy Formulation: Establish objectives for the organization and formulate or approve policies and programs, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Representation: Represent the organization, or delegate representatives to act on behalf of the organization, in negotiations or other official functions.
  • Staff Selection: Select middle managers, directors, or other executive staff, delegating necessary authority and creating optimum working conditions.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Computer and Technology Knowledge: Proficient in MS Access, MS Excel, MS Office, MS Outlook, and MS Word.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, with tight deadlines, and a large workload.
  • Personal Suitability: Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal awareness, and team player attitude.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.

Working Conditions: 30 hours per week, permanent position, English language, and fast-paced environment.
