Job Title: Director and Group Lead, Commercial Banking

About the Role:

The Director and Group Lead, Commercial Banking is a key leadership position responsible for managing a team of Senior Client Relationship Managers, Client Relationship Managers, and Associate Group Leads. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in sales management, relationship building, and leadership, with a strong understanding of Canada's financial services marketplace and the assigned market area's key industries, major customers, and competitive positioning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of Senior Client Relationship Managers, Client Relationship Managers, and Associate Group Leads to achieve financial objectives related to the profitable growth and retention of the team's assigned portfolio of Commercial clients.
  • Develop and execute tactical plans for the team, including an understanding of client and business trends in the assigned market, business development, development of internal and external networks, and overall share of wallet growth.
  • Support and guide the Associate Group Lead in enforcing sound credit principles that align with industry policies and internal standard operating procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Vice President and Head, Commercial Banking to drive business growth and develop strategies to deepen relationships with clients.

Requirements:

  • Expert sales management, relationship building, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and motivate others.
  • Strong knowledge of Canada's financial services marketplace and the assigned market area's key industries, major customers, and competitive positioning.
  • Tactical planning skills and implementation/management skills.
  • Experience in a role that exercises a high degree of independent judgment and discretion with respect to the frequency and duration of sales management activities and within the context of approved budgets, authorities, and Bank policies.
