Job Description
This position coordinates purchasing activities with manufacturing and engineering departments to acquire inventory. It involves acquiring and maintaining technical understanding of products purchased, monitoring costs, schedules, and scope of assigned subcontracts to ensure highest quality at best value. The role performs cost analysis and volume planning for major commodities, may recommend cost-saving proposals, including make-versus-buy analysis, alternative sourcing, and vendor evaluation criteria.
The Supply Chain Coordinator will obtain materials, components, equipment, and services while ensuring security and accountability of inventory through transaction documentation, process verification, and system review. This person will work on-site in our Cambridge, ON facility and report to the Production and Inventory Control Manager.
Your Responsibilities:
- Support product supply and inventory plans consistent with business objectives.
- Review, analyze, and resolve expectations and error reports from mainframe planning and buying modules.
- Facilitate the resolution of supplier inbound Quality Issues.
- Maintain Accounts Payable PO price exception report and resolve invoicing discrepancies according to company policy and system requirements.
- Manage supplier businesses in quality, on-time delivery, and inventory, developing and implementing cost avoidance savings.
- Monitor and process cancellations and holds to manufacturing orders/purchase orders.
- Preserve validity in dispatch lists and control product lead-times. Respond to customer expedite requests promptly and accurately, then quickly relay information to customer service.
- Create a production plan for the assigned module and final production areas, considering customer order status, forecast, material availability, production equipment issues, ECN activity, and other related production issues to satisfy customer delivery performance and financial objectives based on established priorities.
- Maintain accurate Bills of Materials for existing products. Support implementation of Bill of Material changes from Engineering Change Notices and maintain inventory and Bill of Material information to ensure accurate generation of parts lists for product supply sources.
- Develop an understanding of product life cycle planning, including master scheduling, new product introduction, product phase-in/out, and inventory planning, providing backup support to Production Control Technical Analysts.
- Audit and implement new technologies to enhance performance and leverage knowledge and information for driving competitive advantage. Foster an environment where technological innovations are recognized and rewarded.
- Appropriately apply policies and procedures in compliance with government laws, including Standards of Business Conduct, Intellectual Property, Control Environment, Information Protection, ISO 9000 & 14000, government regulations (e.g., health, safety, quality, and environmental), and functional policies published on the Rockwell Automation Information Network.
The Essentials – You Will Have:
- Bachelor's Degree in business or related field.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada is required; we will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
The Preferred – You Might Also Have:
- APICS Certification.
- Demonstrates core knowledge in production control, materials, planning, MRP, and procurement.
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
- Proficient in Excel.
- Working knowledge of purchasing/procurement procedure.

In terms of salary, the estimated range for this Supply Chain Coordinator position is $65,000-$85,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience, which is competitive with industry standards.
