Job Summary

The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager, Facilities Planning and Development to join our team. This is a full-time, permanent position that will play a critical role in the planning, development, and maintenance of our facilities.

About the Role

The Senior Manager, Facilities Planning and Development will be responsible for:

  1. Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic leadership to the Facilities Planning and Development team, ensuring the effective planning, development, and maintenance of CAMH's facilities.
  2. Project Management: Oversee all construction and renovation projects, including the Health Infrastructure Renewal Fund (HIRF), Capital Renewal, and Space Management.
  3. Specialty Services: Oversee specialty services, including off-site leases, signage and wayfinding, CAMH-wide moving services, surplus furniture storage and reuse, and capital asset management.
  4. Team Management: Manage a team of project managers and project planners, ensuring high-quality execution of all aspects of projects.
  5. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain positive partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors and contractors.
  6. Financial Management: Oversee the development and management of annual operating budgets and capital budgets for space planning, HIRF, and Capital Renewal.
  7. Communication: Coordinate communications and change management to support space accommodation and ensure a smooth transition for staff and patients.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. Education: A university degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, together with a minimum of 7 years of progressive management experience.
  2. Designations: OAA, PMP, and/or P. Eng. designations are preferred.
  3. Experience: Demonstrated management experience in design, project management, renovation, and construction, with well-developed skills in strategic planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  4. Leadership: Results-oriented and client-focused leadership background in project management processes and methodologies, with experience negotiating with and managing the performance of external vendors.
  5. Communication: Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with experience writing briefing notes and business cases to support the implementation of major construction projects.
  6. Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical and information-seeking skills that contribute to effective decision-making, strategic planning, and execution of action plans.
  7. Computer Skills: Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) and current AutoCAD software.
