About the Role
Cascades is seeking a highly skilled Bilingual Dispatcher to join our team in Scarborough. As a key member of our Recovery + division, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective dispatch of work, utilizing available drivers and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispatch work in a manner that maximizes efficiency and minimizes costs.
- Modify routes as required to maintain efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate trailer shunting with plants to ensure seamless productivity.
- Inform plants of any changes to inbound and outbound loads that may impact workflow.
- Monitor route performance and production in real-time for assigned drivers.
- Utilize systems such as Geotab and Power BI to achieve service level and efficiency targets.
- Liaise with Account Management and Customer Service to communicate service interruptions or site-level issues.
- Review previous day's route performance to identify areas for improvement.
- Inform Transportation Supervisor of driver and/or equipment problems.
Requirements
- 3 years industry experience.
- Ability to communicate professionally over radio, phone, and email.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a focus on organization.
- Dependable attendance.
- Positive team attitude.
- Above average math skills.
- Self-motivated problem solver.
- At least 3 years experience with computers, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Must be bilingual (English & French).
- Power BI experience is an asset.
- Geotab experience is an asset.
