Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Director of Financial Planning to join our team at Cpanewbrunswick. This is an exciting opportunity to lead our financial planning function and drive strategic growth.

About the Role

The Senior Director of Financial Planning will be responsible for providing oversight and direction to our Financial Shared Services (FSS) departments, ensuring adequate staffing and optimal operation in accordance with our organization's needs and intentions. Key responsibilities include:

  • Building, developing, and improving FSS operations, processes, and procedures to support our strategic direction
  • Promoting and encouraging staff participation in activities that relate to quality improvement and operational efficiency

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 15 years of finance and accounting experience with progressive responsibility, a Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field, and a professional Canadian accounting designation. Strong communication skills, project management experience, and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization are also essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversight of general accounting function and leadership of teams to maintain integrity of general ledger, sub-ledger, and other books of account
  • Management of consolidated overview for accounts receivable, inventory, prepaids, and accounts payable, with follow-up on any issues with program finance directors
  • Monitoring of assets and liabilities through analysis of working capital ratios, collection ratios, and inventory turnover
  • Analysis of receivables, inventory, and prepaids to identify potential unusual issues, risks, or irregularities
  • Investigation and implementation of approved bank technologies, products, and services to improve cash cycle and simplify operations
  • Management of internally and externally restricted cash reserve
Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Minimum 15 years of finance and accounting experience with progressive responsibility
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field and professional Canadian accounting designation
  • Experience providing detailed analysis of financial and operational performance
  • Strong communication skills to explain complex issues in plain language to non-experts
  • Ability to influence CFO and other C-Suite executives
Salary

$140,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience
