Job Summary:

The City of Ottawa is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Arts Program Administrator to join our Recreation and Cultural Services department. As an Arts Program Administrator, you will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of arts programs at multiple facilities and venues. This includes securing and allocating resources, hiring and supervising arts instructors, creating partnerships, and securing grants and sponsorships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement arts programs for various age groups and skill levels
  • Secure and allocate resources, including program venues, staff, volunteers, artists, and equipment
  • Hire and supervise arts instructors or related program staff
  • Create partnerships with local arts organizations and community groups
  • Secure grants and sponsorships to support arts programs

Requirements:

  • College or university student enrolled in a related discipline, such as theatre, dance, music, visual arts, or literary arts
  • Minimum 2 years of practicing and/or teaching experience in a related discipline
  • Excellent knowledge of community centers and local arts community
  • Strong knowledge of program design, development, and evaluation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
