Job Summary:

The City of Ottawa is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the role of Program Administrator, Arts. This position will be responsible for the design, development, and execution of arts programs at multiple facilities and venues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop arts programs for various age groups and skill levels
  • Secure and allocate resources, including program venues, staff, volunteers, artists, and equipment
  • Hire and supervise arts instructors or related program staff
  • Create partnerships and secure grants, sponsorships, and marketing

Requirements:

  • College or university student enrolled in a related discipline (theatre, dance, music, visual, literary, media arts)
  • Minimum 2 years of practicing and/or teaching experience in a related discipline
  • Technical skills and training to safely use specialized equipment
  • Previous experience working with children in a recreation setting, arts centre, or event

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent knowledge of community centres and local arts community
  • Strong knowledge of developing training programs for instructors and/or volunteers
  • Program design, development, and evaluation skills
  • Project management practices

Language Requirement:

The successful candidate will be required to communicate in English, with some positions requiring bilingual competencies.

Police Record Check:

The successful candidate will be required to complete a Vulnerable Sector Check with the Police Services detachment in their jurisdiction to the City of Ottawa's satisfaction.
