Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Arts Program Coordinator to join our team at the City of Ottawa. As an Arts Program Coordinator, you will be responsible for the day-to-day activities of an arts program within a specialized arts venue. Your duties will include designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating a program (theatre, dance, music, visual, literary, and/or media arts) within a specialized arts venue. Additionally, you will be responsible for administration and responding to public inquiries.

Responsibilities

- Design, develop, implement, and evaluate a program (theatre, dance, music, visual, literary, and/or media arts) within a specialized arts venue
- Supervise the day-to-day activities of an arts program
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the arts program
- Provide excellent customer service to the public
- Respond to public inquiries and provide information about the arts program

Requirements

- Completion of college or university arts-related studies program
- Practicing in one of the following disciplines: music, dance, theatre, visual arts, literary arts, media arts, or arts education
- Current Standard First Aid, CPR and/or AED certificates
- Knowledge of interpretive techniques and designing program in related discipline
- Excellent knowledge of the local arts community an asset
- Strong knowledge of developing training program for instructors and/or volunteers using glazes, kilns, wheels, and clay
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and all City of Ottawa corporate/departmental policies and procedures related to Occupational Health and Safety

What You Need to Know

- Language Requirement: Various language requirements, locations may require English only, French only OR Bilingual competencies. Some positions require English oral, reading, and writing. Some positions required French oral, reading and writing.
- Police Record Check: The successful candidate will be required to complete a Vulnerable Sector Check with the Police Services detachment in their jurisdiction to the City of Ottawa's satisfaction.
