Our Hospice Program

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our interdisciplinary team at St. John's Hospice. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse group of patients and families, providing holistic care that addresses their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Provide safe and respectful nursing care to assigned patients, according to established policies and procedures.
  • Conduct head-to-toe assessments, monitor abnormal signs or symptoms, and communicate with the RN/RPN as needed.
  • Support and partner with the RN/RPN in the care of patients with complex or unpredictable outcomes.
  • Administer medications, including narcotics, according to established procedures, and monitor their effects.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient care, including assessments, status, progress, treatments, changes in condition, and discharge planning.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing LPN registrant.
  • Current basic cardiac life support certification.
