Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Food Service Associate to join our team at Empire Diner. As a key member of our dining room and kitchen staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of our food service.

Responsibilities:

  • Take customers' orders and ensure prompt delivery of food and beverages.
  • Stock refrigerators and salad bars to maintain a clean and well-stocked environment.
  • Sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
  • Portion and wrap foods to prepare for service.
  • Package take-out food for customers.
  • Keep records of the quantities of food used to maintain inventory levels.
  • Clean and sanitize items such as dishwasher mats, carts, and waste disposal units to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Clean and sanitize the kitchen, including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances, and equipment, to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
  • Prepare, heat, and finish simple food items to meet customer demands.
  • Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware, and flatware to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
  • Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas to maintain inventory levels.
  • Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors to maintain a clean and safe environment.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:

  • Work in a fast-paced environment with high levels of physical activity.
  • Work under pressure to meet customer demands and maintain high standards of service.
  • Work a 40-hour week with regular hours and occasional overtime.

Requirements:

  • No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Will train on the job.
  • English language proficiency required.
