Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Food Service Associate to join our team at Empire Diner. As a Food Service Associate, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service and ensuring a positive dining experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take orders from customers and provide excellent customer service
  • Stock refrigerators and salad bars to ensure a well-stocked menu
  • Sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand to maintain a clean and hygienic environment
  • Portion and wrap foods to meet our high standards
  • Package take-out food for our customers
  • Keep records of the quantities of food used to inform inventory and ordering decisions
  • Clean and sanitize items such as dishwasher mats, carts, and waste disposal units
  • Clean and sanitize the kitchen, including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances, and equipment
  • Prepare, heat, and finish simple food items to meet our menu requirements
  • Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware, and flatware
  • Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas
  • Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors to maintain a clean and safe environment

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:

  • Fast-paced environment with a focus on providing excellent customer service
  • Physically demanding role requiring stamina and endurance
  • Work under pressure to meet the demands of a busy restaurant environment
  • Permanent full-time position with 40 hours per week
  • English is the primary language of communication in the workplace
