Job Title: Specialist, Complaints and Client Services

Job Summary:

The Retirement Homes Regulatory Authority (RHRA) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist, Complaints and Client Services to join our team. As a key member of our Complaints and Client Services team, you will be responsible for owning, establishing, and maintaining relationships for the RHRA's regulatory compliance processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of the Complaints process, including determining and carrying out actions needed to address a complaint, drafting decision letters, and ensuring accurate and timely maintenance of case management requirements.
  • Communicate with complainants and licensees, mediate and resolve complaints between licensees and complainants, and respond to and address inquiries from licensees and other stakeholders.
  • Create and provide analytical summaries and reports, educate and liaise with internal staff on issues, and liaise with the Complaints Review Officer.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (law, criminology, business, public administration, or health).
  • 5+ years' relevant work experience or equivalent education and experience.
  • Understanding of the regulatory environment, processes, and issues, as well as the principles of administrative law.

Competencies:

  • Proven understanding of legal drafting and excellent ability to draft legally defensible and enforceable documents in clear, appropriate language.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Act and its regulations, as well as exceptional critical thinking, creativity, and independent problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, as well as exceptional time- and file-management skills.
  • Strong facility with data management and ability to become literate in analytics to contribute to the organization's evolving analytics program.
  • Ability to exercise a high level of professionalism and discretion with confidential and sensitive information.
  • Self-directed, motivated, and proven ability to work independently, as well as collaborate within a team.
  • Computer literate with intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office productivity tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
