We are currently seeking a highly skilled Building Operator, Level 3 to join our team. As an entry or junior level building operator, you will be responsible for operational and technical support, installation, repair, and maintenance of climate control and other mechanical systems within a building.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Install, repair, and maintain climate control and other mechanical systems within a building.
  2. Oversee preventative maintenance and unscheduled repairs of HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, lighting, electrical, elevating devices, thermal storage tanks, window blinds system, light systems, roofing, and life safety systems.
  3. Perform general maintenance, including painting, overall housekeeping such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and pressure washing.
  4. Assist with environmental assessments and reporting.
  5. Participate in corporate occupational health and safety program.
  6. Monitor computerized control systems.
  7. Respond to tenant service requests.
  8. Remain current and up-to-date with new industry practices, legislative changes, and new technologies.
Requirements
  • 1 year of direct work experience holding a junior or intermediate position in building operations (an asset but not a requirement).
  • Awareness of a building's HVAC, plumbing, electrical, BAS systems, and life safety systems.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both oral and written, with all levels within the company.
  • Mature and self-motivated team player who is committed to personal growth and ethical integrity.
  • Ability to resolve problems using facts and sound reasoning;
  • Ability to achieve goals using logical and strategic approaches to resolving challenges; and is adaptable to new ideas and can embrace change.
  • Ability to allocate one's time effectively (prioritize) and manage multiple demands with tight deadlines; works under pressure and achieve quality results.
  • Results and detail-oriented.
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills; ensures operations records, files, and documentation are maintained in an orderly, accurate, and timely fashion.
Working Conditions
  1. Work within an environment that is subject to moderate to high levels of stress in emergency or conflict situations.
  2. On occasion requires involvement in repairs or maintenance in inclement weather or uncomfortable environmental working conditions.
  3. Will occasionally be required to attend to or provide direction during after-hours emergency situations.
  4. Requires the ability to exert moderate physical effort and must be able to move quickly in emergency situations; is able to thrive within a busy working environment.

The estimated salary for this role is $65,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
