Job Title: Chief Model Risk Governance Strategist

About the Job:
This role is within the Model Risks' Governance Team of the Risk Management Division at Societe Generale. The team's main mission is to contribute to the development of SG Group business and returns through the implementation of an efficient risk management process.

Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will work for the Model Risk Management team located in Montreal. As a Risk Governance Specialist, you will be pivotal in driving the consistent application of the Model Risks' Governance framework for Societe Generale's Americas division, covering a diverse range of model families. You'll take the lead on managing and maintaining the AMER Model Inventory and the Model Risk Management platform (GRC Platform).

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Refine the Risk Framework by enhancing the AMER model risk appetite and management framework.
  2. Manage Model Inventory by engaging stakeholders to maintain the SG AMER Model Inventory and support the annual certification.
  3. Conduct Quality Control by performing checks on independent model reviews.
  4. Governance and Reporting by implementing model risk processes, assessing risk, and reporting to governance forums.
  5. Support Regulatory and Audit Preparation by preparing materials for regulators and internal/external audits.
  6. Collaborate on Tech Solutions by partnering with technology to build model inventory and workflow solutions.
  7. Track and Report Issues by reviewing and monitoring remediation actions and distributing governance materials.

Requirements:
To be considered for this role, you must have:
  1. A minimum of 3 years of experience in risk management, model risk, with deep knowledge of risk metrics, model controls, and industry standards, including regulatory requirements like SR11-07.
  2. A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a similar field.
  3. Prior experience drafting policy and procedure documentation, MIS reports, and materials for senior management, oversight forums, and regulators.
