The Risk Management Department at SGS Société Générale de Surveillance SA plays a pivotal role in driving the group's sustainable growth through expert risk analysis, understanding of risks, and effective risk management techniques. As part of this esteemed team, you will contribute to achieving the best possible outcome for the bank by independently analyzing, assessing, managing, and monitoring risk-taking activities.

This position is within the Model Risk Governance Team of the Risk Management Division, responsible for contributing to the development of SG Group business and returns through an efficient risk management process. The candidate will work with the Model Risk Management team in charge of model risk governance, located in Montreal.

You will play a critical role in ensuring a consistent implementation of the Model Risk Governance framework for all models at Societe Generale in the Americas, across all model families. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Enhancing the AMER model risk appetite and management framework definition
  • Collaborating with model owners/users/developers for the maintenance of the SG AMER Model Inventory
  • Performing quality controls on independent reviews performed by Validation teams
  • Implementing model risk governance processes, including model risk assessment and reporting
  • Preparing presentations to regulators and internal/external audit on model risk management topics

To succeed in this role, you should have a strong background in model risk management, with a minimum of three years of experience in related areas. A bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related discipline is required, along with expertise in drafting policy and procedure documentation. Strong knowledge of model risk regulatory requirements and industry standard practice is essential.
