Family Counsellor Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Family Counsellor to join our interdisciplinary team at the Royal Alexandra Hospital. The ideal candidate will have graduate training in psychotherapeutic interventions, experience working in a busy healthcare setting, and a proven track record of being an effective team player.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up to clients and their families.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare providers and community service providers to ensure a continuum of care in the community.
  • Develop and promote preventative health programs in the community.
  • Provide clinical-focused consultation with other programs or community resources.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a master's degree in a health-related field.
  • Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years providing family counselling.
  • 2-4 years' experience working within child or adolescent addiction and/or mental health services.
  • Registration with a professional college recognized under the Health Professions Act.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to function effectively in an interdisciplinary team led by psychiatry.
  • Strong skills in time management, organization, and prioritization of workload.
  • Solid knowledge of the continuum of addiction and mental health services for families within the Edmonton Zone, internal to AHS and community-based.
  • Certification in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention and Suicide Prevention.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in Connect Care.
