About the Role

CASA Child, Adolescent and Family Mental Health is seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Therapist to join our team. As a key member of our mental health team, you will play a vital role in delivering culturally-safe mental health services to children, youth, and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality trauma-focused mental health therapies to children, teens, and families in a school-based setting.
  • Develop and implement specialized parenting skills for caregivers with children who have exceptional needs.
  • Formulate diagnoses using the DSM-5-TR and other diagnostic tools, as appropriate.
  • Conduct case management functions, including convening case conferences and liaising with mental health professionals, community services, and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinate consultation with other therapists or external partners, as necessary.
  • Supervise and/or precept student placements, ensuring the development of future mental health professionals.
  • Contribute to staff knowledge and understanding of discipline-specific issues, enhancing the overall quality of care.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in psychology, social work, or occupational therapy.
  • A minimum of two years of clinical practice in child and family mental health and/or youth addictions.
  • Active registration and good standing with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW), College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP), or Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).
Conditions of Employment

  • A satisfactory Child Intervention Check.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or exemption on the basis of a protected legal ground.
