About the Job

The primary responsibilities of this position include operating a cube van to deliver and receive products in excellent condition, adhering to corporate policies and delivery best practices. This role is an extension of our Garden Centres, and our drivers are expected to provide outstanding customer service that emulates the experience in our stores.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Operate a cube van while delivering and receiving products in excellent condition.
  • Load and unload products from vehicles.
  • Conduct product transfers and deliveries between Sheridan locations across the GTA.
  • Obey all MTO requirements and maintain organized documentation of all trucking and delivery-related information.
  • Work in conjunction with Store Management and the Joint Health & Safety Committee to ensure a safe work environment for all.
  • Actively seek to increase knowledge of Sheridan Nurseries products and services.
  • Perform other duties around the Garden Centre as assigned by Management.
Requirements:
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and hold a G class license with a clean driving abstract.
  • Experience driving a truck or cube van in various road and weather conditions.
  • Ability to adapt and prioritize multiple tasks and situations with effective time management skills.
  • Punctuality and dependability, with a strong value on honesty, integrity, and authenticity.
  • Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
  • Prior experience working in customer-facing roles.
  • Forklift experience is an asset.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in various weather conditions.
  • This position requires working weekdays, as well as occasional weekends and evenings as scheduled.
