About the Role:

As a Delivery Specialist, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our customers receive their garden centre purchases promptly and with exceptional care. You'll be responsible for operating a cube van to deliver products throughout the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), including urban centres like downtown Toronto and surrounding rural communities.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Safely and efficiently operate a cube van, delivering and receiving products in excellent condition, adhering to all company policies and best practices.
  • Load and unload product from vehicles with care and attention to detail.
  • Facilitate product transfers between Sheridan Nurseries locations across the GTA.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all delivery-related information, ensuring compliance with MTO regulations.
  • Collaborate with Store Management and the Joint Health & Safety Committee to foster a safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols, reporting hazards, and setting a positive example for colleagues.
  • Continuously expand your knowledge of Sheridan Nurseries' diverse product offerings and services.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the Garden Centre by assisting with various tasks as assigned by Management.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Legally eligible to work in Canada with a valid G class driver's license and a clean driving abstract.
  • Proven experience driving a truck or cube van in diverse road and weather conditions.
  • Exceptional time management skills, allowing you to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • A strong commitment to punctuality, dependability, honesty, integrity, and authenticity.
  • Excellent communication skills and a positive, customer-focused attitude.
  • Prior experience in customer-facing roles is highly valued.
  • Forklift experience is an asset.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work comfortably in various weather conditions.
