About the Role

Burnside & Associates Limited is seeking a highly skilled Senior Solid Waste Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our solid waste management group, you will play a pivotal role in providing technical leadership and project management for the planning, design, and monitoring of diverse waste management systems, including landfills, recycling depots, and transfer stations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead client and business development initiatives to drive growth
  • Manage proposal and project production teams, providing guidance and mentorship to junior staff
  • Communicate effectively with clients, regulatory agencies, Indigenous communities, and stakeholders
  • Provide in-person and virtual presentations to clients and their staff, relevant to their regulatory requirements and industry best practices
  • Perform additional duties as required to ensure project success

Requirements

  • Hold an Environmental Engineering or Civil Engineering degree
  • Bring extensive experience in solid waste engineering consulting or an equivalent field
  • Maintain membership, in good standing, with Professional Engineers Ontario
  • Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Showcase the ability to work concurrently on several projects, consistently delivering on-time and on-budget results to clients
  • Demonstrate success in leading and building high-performing teams
  • Possess the ability and willingness to travel between Burnside offices and occasionally to remote client sites
