Job SummaryThe IT Support Specialist Level 2 – Desktop Technician will be responsible for providing day-to-day local and on-site desktop support. This includes receiving inbound calls, answering questions, troubleshooting and documenting steps taken to resolve hardware, software, and application issues within our ticketing system. The successful candidate will also facilitate customer resolution by engaging supervisors and managers to ensure operational consistency across all shifts within the IT Support Centre.
Key Responsibilities- Provide Break Fix, fault diagnosis, and resolution services
- Analyze faults in various core operating systems and platforms
- Support and troubleshoot approved application suites
- Install, upgrade, support, and troubleshoot XP, Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10, and Microsoft Office 2010
- Install, upgrade, support, and troubleshoot printers and computer hardware
- Perform general preventative maintenance tasks on computers, laptops, and printers
- Utilize diagnostic tools to troubleshoot problems associated with network connectivity and workstation hardware/software
- Broad experience in IT with a basic understanding of Networks, Servers, Audio/Visual, Smart Devices, and Telecoms
- Ability to work in a project-based environment requiring flexibility and teamwork
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field
- CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) or better
- Minimum of 18 months of IT experience
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication, relationship-building, and internal customer service skills. Adaptability and flexibility in a fast-changing industry and work environment are essential.
We estimate the salary for this position to be around $65,000-$80,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
