Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Customer Service Representative - Campus Store at Okanagan College. As a key member of our retail team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, handling cash transactions, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent customer service by developing rapport, building customer confidence, and responding to customer inquiries or issues in a timely manner.
  • Process cash and card payments, count and record cash, and balance cash transactions.
  • Contribute to store profitability by identifying sales opportunities and engaging in suggestive selling.
  • Perform general retail duties, including receiving deliveries, verifying inventory, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.
  • Provide support to the Retail Services Coordinator and General Merchandise Buyer, including processing customer transactions and restocking products.
Requirements
  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent, plus one-year post-secondary education.
  • Two+ years recent customer service, retail, and/or cashier experience.
  • Strong customer service skills, with ability to deal tactfully and diplomatically with internal and external contacts.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with staff, students, clients, and the general public.
  • Excellent computer skills, with proficiency using point-of-sale systems, Microsoft Office, and similar complex databases.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
