About the Role
Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Emergency Nurse Specialist to join our team at Sechelt Hospital. As a key member of our Emergency department, you will provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the development of our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide emergency nursing care to clients of all ages, prioritizing their needs and responding to their unique circumstances.
- Assess client needs and develop plans of care in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Stabilize and resuscitate patients with complex trauma, and respond to disaster situations.
- Enhance quality of life for patients and their families through expert nursing practice.
- Consult and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
- Lead and mentor colleagues to promote excellence in nursing practice.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of our department.
About Sechelt Hospital
Sechelt Hospital is a 46-bed acute care facility serving the Lower Sunshine Coast community. Our hospital provides a range of services, including emergency care, renal services, mental health and substance use services, surgical services, and imaging services.
Qualifications
- Completion of a recognized advanced program in emergency care nursing or two years of recent, related experience.
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives.
- Broad knowledge of nursing theory and practice within a patient-centered model of care.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and implement plans of care in relation to patient priorities.
- Ability to work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
