About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Global Operations Portfolio Manager to join our team at Scotiabank. As a key member of our Global Operations leadership team, you will be responsible for managing the Global Operations project portfolio, including facilitating annual prioritization, business case review and funding, project governance, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Portfolio Management: Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the Global Operations project portfolio, including project health, status, risks, issues, benefits, and dependencies.
  • Business Case Development: Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and review business cases, ensuring alignment with strategic and operational priorities.
  • Project Governance: Ensure effective project governance, including monitoring and reporting on project costs and benefits realization.
  • Team Leadership: Lead a team of professionals in identifying and reporting on portfolio issues and dependencies, and providing regular financial updates on project spend, forecast, and trends.
  • Division Transformation: Develop and maintain a centralized online information hub for Global Operations PMO documentation, and provide training and guidance to improve project capacity and capability.
Requirements
  • Excellent Analytical Skills: Possess a solid understanding of project performance measurement tools and criteria, and the ability to conceptualize problems and apply analytical techniques for evaluating investments.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to direct varied activities within tight deadlines and liaise with senior management.
  • Good People Skills: Foster a positive work environment that values teamwork and provides a productive, enjoyable, and satisfying experience for all staff.
  • Exemplary Customer Service: Provide professional advice and creative solutions to customers, with a focus on delivering results under tight deadlines and multiple priorities.
  • Strong Team Management: Lead a team of professionals in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on delivering results and improving project capacity and capability.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Office, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint, with experience working with GL systems, data, time tracking tools, and project management tools.
