About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for preparing, dispensing, and administering radiopharmaceuticals to perform a wide range of nuclear medicine diagnostic procedures and therapies.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients undergoing nuclear medicine procedures
  • Operate and maintain nuclear medicine equipment, including cameras and computers
  • Collaborate with nuclear medicine physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and efficient patient care
  • Participate in quality assurance and quality control activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of new technologies and procedures in nuclear medicine

About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with a strong background in nuclear medicine technology. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A graduate degree in nuclear medicine technology from an accredited program
  • Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification and Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure
  • Basic Life Support Certification and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System training
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals
  • A commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, with a focus on staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and procedures in nuclear medicine

Hours and Compensation

This is a long-assignment full-time position, with a 75-hour biweekly schedule. The successful candidate will be eligible for our comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
