Nuclear Medicine Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for preparing, dispensing, and administering radiopharmaceuticals to perform a wide range of nuclear medicine diagnostic procedures and therapies.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
- Operate and maintain nuclear medicine equipment, including cameras and computers
- Collaborate with nuclear medicine physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and effective patient care
- Conduct quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with hospital accreditation, Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission, and Health Canada regulations
- Participate in on-call/emergency procedures outside of regular working hours
About You
We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with a strong background in nuclear medicine technology. The ideal candidate will have:
- A graduate degree from an accredited School of Nuclear Medicine Technology
- Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification and Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure
- Basic Life Support Certification and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System training
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
Hours and Compensation
This is a long-assignment full-time position, with a 75-hour biweekly schedule. The successful candidate will be eligible for our comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
