Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Systems Analyst to join our team at FortisBC. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support to our teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively manage their individual corporate critical application support activities.
  • Develop and maintain detailed software design and functional specifications for bug fixes, maintenance releases, and enhancements related to in-scope applications.
  • Develop software code based on design specifications, including writing new code, modifying existing code, and integrating software code using a source control system.
  • Maintain database objects and documentation, including ERDs, dictionaries, and libraries.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve technical issues and improve overall system performance.
Requirements
  • 2-year diploma in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 8 years of related work experience.
  • Competency in managing medium to large projects.
  • Immediate knowledge of data center technologies, virtualization, storage, backup, networking, security, and related supporting infrastructure.
  • Technology subject matter expert with applications such as SAP, Customer Information Systems (CIS), Geographical Information Systems (GIS), Mobile Workforce Management (MWFM), Automated Metering Infrastructure (AMI), or Content Management Systems (CMS) is an asset.
