What will your role entail?

As a Zone Technical Specialist , you will offer product knowledge in Smart Infrastructure / Smart Building Technology Solutions, focusing on Automation products and third-party systems to Zone personnel. You will also provide training and technical assistance for field technicians and specialists; deliver on-site technical troubleshooting to resolve client issues; and offer advanced technical support for Sales initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Identify and resolve technical issues on projects and provide relevant reports to management.
  • Troubleshoot network, software, and/or hosted system failures.
  • Utilize remote connectivity to enhance rapid problem resolution with technicians and clients.
  • Collaborate with other Zone Technical Specialists to develop and share technical solutions.
  • Stay updated with product documentation and communicate changes to Field Technicians and Specialists.
  • Maintain technical proficiency on all products, tools, and gateways through ongoing education.
  • Mentor Field Technicians on company systems and service offerings.
  • Provide technical sales support and assistance on the latest company products.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and communicate design strategies to Sales Executives.
  • Submit a monthly report to management detailing all activities performed (Sales support, Technical and Application support, training, mentoring, etc.).
  • Support all staff in the assigned Zone.

What qualifications are required for success?

  • Post-secondary education (Technical College or University) in a related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of engineering/systems experience.
  • Experience in Automation systems.
  • Knowledge and experience in Information Technology/Operational Technology (IT/OT); relevant IT certifications are a plus.
  • Demonstrate and apply a broad knowledge of the field through successful completion of moderately complex assignments.
  • Effectively apply knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures in the specific area of expertise.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the organization's business practices and challenges.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license in good standing.
  • Asset: IT / Network certifications; industry-related certifications such as Microsoft, Cisco, EIT, ASHRAE, NICET, or CISSP.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English and French to engage with the national team.
