Job Summary:

The Director of Finance for Business Aviation Training, Helicopter Aviation Training, and Maintenance is responsible for overseeing the financial performance of these segments. This includes forecasting variance analysis and reporting, as well as liaising with corporate finance management and the business management team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directly supervise the global finance team and ensure cooperation with other colleagues to provide and deliver results, forecasts, budgets, and strategic plans.
  • Provide a strong commercial understanding of the business and offer immediate and accurate financial performance assessments for each business.
  • Support Business Leaders in developing the company's business and financial strategy, including planning and monitoring, as well as the management and development of policies, systems, processes, and personnel involved.
  • Produce monthly management accounts and associated reports accurately and on time, including relevant commentaries and answers to queries.
  • Oversee all business cases across the BAT/HAT/Mx business and work with the BD department to ensure assumptions are aligned with finance.
  • Contribute to the strategic planning and development of the Business Units, including supporting corporate departments with financial structure, tax planning, and other finance-related matters.
  • Review and produce regular, accurate, and reliable financial forecasts for the Business Unit.
  • Support the business in defining the appropriate Key Performance Indicators to support their growth.
  • Involve in the sales commission plan definition and calculation to ensure appropriate payment according to performance.
  • Coordinate and control the budget process for the business unit and deliver it in accordance with corporate requirements.
  • Manage the company's finance department budget and other finance-related costs effectively.
  • Manage and coach a dedicated finance team.
  • Provide and interpret financial information for different locations in the businesses and assist in the establishment of training centers in different locations as required.
  • Monitor performance and efficiency.
  • Analyze change and conduct risk assessments.
  • Participate in strategic planning and formulate long-term business plans.
  • Oversee budgetary control.
  • Manage working capital effectively, particularly Accounts Receivable, and keep overdue accounts and bad debts to minimum levels.
  • Manage and motivate a team of staff, including performance reviews.
  • Work and communicate effectively with the management team of the training center to deliver the required business performance.
  • Represent the corporation on certain partnerships or business ventures from time to time.
  • Support and manage both management and staff through regular change processes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor or Postgraduate degree in finance or accounting with an Accounting recognized designation (CPA).
  • Fifteen to twenty years of relevant experience with a demonstrated track record and past experience in leading finance organizations as a controller and/or Director.
  • Good working knowledge of the simulation-based business and dynamics is an asset.
