About the Opportunity

The University of Toronto is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Coordinator for Indigenous Trauma and Resiliency Specialization to join its Faculty of Social Work. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of a unique program that focuses on the integration of research and practice in the field of Indigenous Trauma and Resiliency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-level support to students and faculty in the Indigenous Trauma and Resiliency field of study, including advising on program and course matters, analyzing practicum opportunities, and researching potential employers.
  • Foster positive relationships with stakeholders to support student academic and practicum activities, including working with a system that selects and matches students to a practicum rotation.
  • Interpret and apply policies and procedures to make independent decisions, determine logistical details for events and programming, and plan and oversee the implementation of an evaluation framework for programs and initiatives.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) or a related field, with a minimum of five years' experience in administering student programs in a post-secondary setting.
  • Experience working in/collaborating with national Indigenous agencies, indigenous communities, and/or agencies and communities involved with trauma-affected populations across Canada.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate and build relationships with partners and work cohesively as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to prioritize own work flow and respond to escalated student complaints using informal negotiation skills.
  • Highly developed computer skills, including experience with MS Office suite, desktop publishing, digital communication tools, and various software programs and databases.
