We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Social Services Coordinator to join our team at the Thunder Bay Indigenous Friendship Centre.

Job Summary

This is a permanent full-time position that offers a competitive salary of approximately $55,000 per year, depending on experience.

The Social Services Coordinator will be responsible for providing support services to Indigenous individuals and families, including case management, counseling, and referral to community resources. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Indigenous culture and history, as well as experience working in social services or a related field. They will also possess a valid driver's license and be willing to travel to remote areas as required.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Indigenous people in our community.

Responsibilities
  • Provide case management services to Indigenous individuals and families, including assessment, goal setting, and service planning.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans to meet the needs of clients, including referrals to community resources and support services.
  • Collaborate with other professionals and agencies to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for clients.
  • Conduct home visits and outreach services as required.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of client interactions and services provided.
Requirements
  • Diploma or degree in a relevant field such as social work, child and youth care, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in social services or a related field.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to remote areas as required.
  • Strong understanding of Indigenous culture and history.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
