About the Role

The Government of Nova Scotia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the position of Director, Education Sector Labour Relations. As a key member of the Department of Finance and Treasury Board, you will provide expert advice to senior government officials and stakeholders on labour relations and compensation issues affecting the education sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic advice on labour relations and compensation matters to senior government officials and stakeholders
  • Develop and inform the provincial labour strategy in collaboration with other senior government officials
  • Act as a resource to education entities, providing expert consulting and contract administration services
  • Monitor and assess the financial and policy implications of changes to collective agreements
  • Serve as the principal liaison between the Department of Finance and Treasury Board and the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (Law or Business) or acceptable equivalency of training and experience
  • Strong relationship management skills and ability to develop effective, collaborative relationships
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills, with ability to respond immediately to questions and issues
  • Detail-oriented with excellent planning, organizational, and time-management skills

Pay Grade and Salary Range

EC 14, $4,461.81 Bi-Weekly
