Job Title: Junior Art Director
About the Role
We are seeking a talented Junior Art Director to join our team at Leo Burnett Toronto. As a Junior Art Director, you will play a key role in supporting and creating work across digital, social, traditional, and experiential channels, finding creative solutions that exceed expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior creative teams to execute creative concepts and develop relevant project strategies.
- Actively participate in team brainstorm sessions to discuss assignment parameters and understand a brand's tone and positioning.
- Generate a range of ideas and designs to solve client marketing problems and produce effective and compelling design for all elements of the creative solution.
- Prepare design solutions for internal and external presentations and act as a point of contact for Account Management and Project Management teams.
- Participate in production process to ensure integrity of final product and help develop tools and recommendations to improve current processes that impact client deliverables.
- Coordinate design efforts with experienced planners to understand user needs and design a solution that meets those needs.
- Work with production to ensure integrity of files and regularly attend client-planning meetings.
- Understand client brand & business objectives and translate into a compelling concept.
- Consistently develop your knowledge and understanding of client's business, leading to the development of a broader range of solutions to client problems.
- Work enthusiastically with other client team members in a collaborative environment and demonstrate a willingness to learn, while creatively solving problems with a positive, professional demeanor.
Requirements
- Professional knowledge of graphic art or related field required – normally acquired through completion of an accredited program offered at a college or university.
- Experience coming up with creative 360-degree advertising campaign ideas, seeing them through from the concepting stage all the way through post-production.
- A minimum of 1 year's experience with a strong and diverse portfolio of advertising campaigns – background in an agency environment or in-house marketing department preferred.
- Expert knowledge of software packages including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Working knowledge of marketing strategies and tactics.
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
- Analytical skills to evaluate creative approach, and seek unexpected, original, and innovative ideas.
