Pediatric Respiratory Therapist

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at BC Children's Hospital. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will provide high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to deliver exceptional outcomes for our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide respiratory therapy expertise for patients with serious health needs in the PICU
- Operate respiratory equipment, including initial setup, quality control, and adjustments as needed
- Support patient care for ventilator-dependent individuals, including assessment and monitoring
- Recommend and administer individualized medical gas therapies
- Provide invasive and non-invasive cardio-pulmonary monitoring
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy and successful completion of the Canadian Board of Respiratory Care examination
- Current and continuing registration with British Society of Respiratory Therapists (BCSRT) and the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT)
- Current Basic Life Support certification
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification
