About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at BC Children's Hospital. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our pediatric intensive care unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' respiratory conditions and develop effective care plans.
  • Operate and maintain respiratory equipment, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide comprehensive patient care and support.
  • Develop and implement individualized medical gas therapies to meet patients' unique needs.
  • Provide cardio-pulmonary monitoring and respond to emergency situations as needed.
  • Evaluate patient responses to treatments and therapies, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Prepare reports and statistical information to support quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program and successful completion of the Canadian Board of Respiratory Care examination.
  • Current registration with the British Society of Respiratory Therapists (BCSRT) and the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT).
  • Current Basic Life Support certification and Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
