We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at BC Children's Hospital. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our pediatric intensive care unit.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' respiratory conditions and develop effective care plans.
- Operate and maintain respiratory equipment, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide comprehensive patient care and support.
- Develop and implement individualized medical gas therapies to meet patients' unique needs.
- Provide cardio-pulmonary monitoring and respond to emergency situations as needed.
- Evaluate patient responses to treatments and therapies, making adjustments as necessary.
- Prepare reports and statistical information to support quality improvement initiatives.
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program and successful completion of the Canadian Board of Respiratory Care examination.
- Current registration with the British Society of Respiratory Therapists (BCSRT) and the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT).
- Current Basic Life Support certification and Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
