We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) team at BC Children's Hospital. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the interdisciplinary team's efforts to deliver exceptional care to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Provide respiratory therapy expertise to patients in the PICU, including assessment, treatment, and education.
- Operate and maintain respiratory equipment, including ventilators and oxygen therapy devices.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program and current registration with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information with discretion.
- Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, with a focus on staying current with best practices and evidence-based care.
